and like if my drunk googling is to be trusted, if we get chicks now they'll be good for laying in roughly August

YEP. I bought her when I was totally high on vicodin after getting my ass kicked and set on fire. Or ... when I got smushed. I can't remember.

REGARDLESS. Yes, we have one chicken, her name is Yolko Ono and she is fluffy and sweet and sometimes lays eggs.

That's why I've got a stack of soundproofing tiles in the shed.

Fair, I'll accept roosters that don't wake me up at dawn. Or 2am. Or whenever they decide the moon is too bright. 4 pm.

Lived off-campus at Culver part of the year, one of the neighbors had this absolutely dumber-than-bricks rooster that liked to crow just to hear itself. All day, all night.
