I don’t really talk about home a lot but I found out last month that they’d be shutting down their last coal powered power plant and they actually did it, so I’m chuffed. Pleased. Whatever. Obviously energy has a long way to go still but makes me think a lot about that solar punk aesthetic —Yes we’ve got that new power, (thanks science people, I blow a kiss to you 😘 ) but a girl can dream.

Don't ask me about the math.

Yeah, this is good. Important first step. But the real bitchy issue, the dealbreaker so to speak, is transmission loss. Doesn't do much good to generate 1 Fuckton of electricity via solar is you lose 90% of it getting it to where it's needed.

It's what we like to call a Hard problem. I took a shot at it one summers back on the rez, and did okay. Not good enough to roll nationwide and there's all those pesky entrenched interests.

Still. Father Earth is pleased. I hope. I can't actually hear Father Earth anymore.
