My hair still smells of gravy and it's going to be a long time before I can look mash potatoes in the face. But totally worth it, making Problematic National Holiday into something useful.

Baking soda gets a lot of smells out of hair. You like, make it into kind of a paste with water, and hang out with it for ten minutes and then wash it out like regular.

Yeah, "washing like regular" for me is a whole lot different than it is for you. Once a week, huge production and then I have to leave the conditioner in for ages. But the baking soda is a good idea - I called my grandma and she mentioned brushing a little bit through just dry is great for getting stink out.

It's an African American thing - our scalps and hair tend to be more prone to drying out, so we have to deep condition regularly and avoid washing it too much. I'm thinking I might get it braided or put into locs for the winter - the 'fro is super high maintenance in the cold and dry, and it might be more practical X-Men-wise to get it out of the way.

Oh, cause the springy. Yeah, so probably like half the things I do to get stuff out of my hair isn't gonna work. Damn. I bet the tomato juice thing is out too (it gets out skunk smells, also Toad smells)

Being not from America, I tend to do the same (doing something useful), but tabernac, that was an astonishing amount of food even for those with the proverbial 'mutant metabolism'.

I've been using sleep caps since I was in elementary school and my hair was long enough to need one.
